Hi Bye, Mama!
Do you like to watching series? Well, I do. In 2020 I watched 67 series and movies, and this year I want to watch at least 50.
I think that watching series helps you to discover and learn new things, languages and life lessons. I don't believe that watching series or movies teaches you ONLY violence and bad things for your life. I know that shows similar to The Walking Dead are a little too much for many, but there are A LOT of other options that teach you heartfelt lessons.
One of the shows that impacted me the most (in a kind way) in 2020 was Hi Bye, Mama!.
Hi Bye, Mama! is a fantasy show about a woman (Cha Yu-Ri) who unfortunately dies and leaves behind her husband and her newborn baby (Seo-Woo). For 5 years she stays as a ghost beside her daughter, seeing her development. But one day, she returns to regain her place as a wife and a mother. If she recovers it, she will come back from death.
This is a complicated drama, throughout the whole plot you are trying to decide along with Cha Yu-ri whether to stay or not. She has many things to consider because, after 5 years, things changed a lot.
What moves her heart is her daughter, she lived and died for her. Her whole world is her, and the fact that she will never see her marrying, being pregnant, or smiling every day, breaks her heart.
(Fun fact: the actor that portrays the little girl is actually a boy)
This drama surely teaches you life lessons that you will never forget. One of them is the fact that you don't know what will happen tomorrow or if you are going to see your mother again after you wake up. You take everything for granted instead of valuing the little things and people in your life.
Every chapter WILL make you cry, each one of them has a different back (sad) story about one of the ghosts that are friends with Yu-ri. The director had no mercy, so you better have a tissue close to you.
This is a heartwarming story that will change your perception of life and death that will make you smile, cry, and laugh.
I totally recommend it.
