WW84
During this pandemic, many people rely on movies to make their days different from the others. Sites on the internet like Netflix, Cuevana, or Amazon provide us with plenty of movies to watch.
During one dull day, I found myself interested in watching Wonder Woman 1984. I liked the previous one. I supposed that this one would also be interesting, but I was wrong.
Wonder Woman 1984 is a 2020 movie set in 1984 during the Cold War. The film follows Diana and her past love Steve Trevor as they face off against Max Lord and Cheetah and a stone created by the gods.
Before reading this article, you should watch the movie first.
I don't prefer superhero movies, but sometimes I enjoy them along with my family. WW84 was, for me, an extended fable.
There was no clear villain at all, and just with a speech, Diana saved the world. It was ridiculous that after 1 hour and a half of people fighting, Diana couldn't beat the bad guy and half-dead she "saved the world" by speaking for 20 minutes non-stop. In the comics, she kills Max Lord by snapping his neck. In the movie, Diana seemed less powerful and more like an angel, a thing that I hated.
The WHOLE movie had just ONE thing to mention: be careful what you wish for. And it makes this point over and again, in such obvious ways, that it feels weirdly naïve and antiquated.
Also, why is it so long? 2 hours and a half is too much. Max Lord consumed too much time saying: "What you wish for" and being annoying.
Diana had no character development at all. In the beginning, her friendship with Barbara (Cheetah) was helping us to understand that she was trying to get better, but after Steve came back and Barbara turned to Cheetah, Diana had a setback.
Even though I hated it, this is still one of the best movies of DC.
