At school, we often get the chance to choose among several activities such as painting, dancing, practicing martial arts or playing some kind of sport, these activities not only help to keep us occupied while doing something we fancy, but they also play an important role when developing new skills that will somehow be useful on our daily lives.

Model UN is just another one of the activities mentioned

before and even though some people are completely in love and passionate about it, many others just don’t get why someone would spend their entire weekend studying and waking up early, and yes it sounds “boring” as weekends are the days when we get to rest and spend time with our friends and family, so why do people go to these things?

Model UN helps you to overcome your fear of public speaking, it amplifies your knowledge on international issues, it enhances your leadership skills and the conference is also a great opportunity to meet new people and improve your social interaction, it has many perks and everyone should go to one of these events at least once during their school years.

This activity is completely worthy, we need to know that someday it’ll be us leading the world, so we need to be ready when the time comes. If you are one of those who have never been on a MUN conference give it a chance but watch out, you may end up loving it.
