When it Gets Dark
There she was, staring out the window, watching the stars looking for something magical. It was exactly 9 o clock, so she needed to go to bed and she did. Every morning Dalila wondered what was out there?, how did people earn their lives? and why didn’t children do anything but study and stay at home ?
She wasn’t allowed to go out when it was late, nor alone and she couldn't go way too deep into the woods. She really didn’t know why and the curiosity was killing her, so one day she decided to explore the woods without her mother knowing, and so she began her journey. Dalila started watching the beautiful fauna and flora and was innocently happy.
She had the opportunity to see what men do on a daily basis and was excited to do the same, but she didn’t know the risks of that job. This job was very dangerous and especially for a young girl like her, men had to hunt wild wild animals such as panthers, bears, pumas, deers and foxes, but that wasn’t the only thing, there was this legend that when it gets dark a mysterious body starts surrounding the woods and at midnight he does atrophic stuff.
Of course Dalila didn’t believe that legend so she didn’t worry at all. Back at her humble home was her poor mom and father waiting for her and scared that something could happen to her, but there she was, trying to catch any animal in order to help her parents pay for her studies. She wasn’t really aware of what was going on around her, until she felt this cold, strong breeze. That was the point where she started freaking out and accidentally hunted a squirrel. Immediately she decided to return back home, but because of the darkness she couldn’t really see anything, so she was lost and then it started to rain, when all of a sudden this gigantic and dark shadow stood in front of her.
The shadow offered her to guide her back home but Dalila in her innocence didn’t realize that he was guiding her to death. She started looking up to the stars once she felt there was something off, and that is when she saw this big star that seemed to come down. Dalila had this feeling of hope. The star was actually her older sister, when she died she became a goddess whose job was to protect children from the bad in the world and teach them what to do or not.
Clea saved Dalila from the dark shadow and brought her home. She also told her that there’s a reason why children don’t work, because it’s not their responsibility and they have their own duty as children. When she got home goddess Clea disappeared and her parents were glad she was back and safe, told her she shouldn't worry about her education, her job was to study and obey.
The End.
