The young man was Adam Toledo, of Latin origin, who died on March 29 from a gunshot.
Chicago police released footage of the moment one of their officers shot a 13-year-old teenager in an alley, killing him. The video was also published showing the policeman screaming before shooting the minor in the chest while he had his arms raised.
Apparently this happened since the young man seemed to have a weapon but in the video it is not possible to see clearly if he had it or not, but the video also shows the agents finding the weapon near the place where the incident took place.
The case of the young Adam Toledo has caused outrage in the United States, also among the political class.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said "Authorities had failed Adam" and made a request not to generate street protests over the incident.
The agent, after shooting him, calls an ambulance while asking the young man to stay awake. Later, other uniformed men arrive and an attempt of cardiopulmonary resuscitation is made.
According to prosecutors, Adam Toledo was with a 21-year-old, identified as Rubén Roman, who had just fired a gun at a passing car. Roman appeared in court, charged with "aggravated illegal use of a pistol, reckless discharge of a firearm and endangering a child."
