The Candileja

The Limelight

The legend goes, that the Candileja is a fervid fireball made up by 3 torches with red tentacles that are also on fire. As it walks, it makes noises of broken jars while chasing drunk, unfaithful men and irresponsible parents, sometimes it hunts down travelers late at night.

This legend was based upon an old woman who lived with

her two grandchildren and she was very whimsical, so when she died  is said that San Pedro argued her for pandering the bad education of her grandchildren and he decided to condemn her in this world between three torches.

Personally, we don’t believe in myths or legends, so this kind of things doesn’t seem real to us, we look at it as stories invented by people. However, it can be real because everything is possible, but we don’t believe in it.
