Pollution: Causes, Consequences, and Solutions.

The Problem With Pollution

Why is it important to eradicate environmental pollution?

What is contamination? What are the types of contamination? Why does it hurt us so much? What can we do about it?

According to the website called Wikipedia, "Pollution is the introduction of substances or other physical elements into a medium that makes it unsafe or unfit for use." We know that pollution is a common phenomenon, very worrying that affects every single living organism, we all know what it means to pollute, however, we rarely think about its consequences, or the way we can help the environment, we also think that only humans are responsible for this disaster, but we are wrong, humans are not the only ones that generate pollution, some algae release toxins that pollute the water, volcanoes are also a source of natural pollution, when a volcano erupts in the atmosphere Ash and high concentrations of some minerals enter the environment. So first we must change that guilt thought, there are several types of contamination:

Air pollution: involves certain natural processes, such as volcanic eruptions, or the use of non-renewable resources such as oil.

Aquatic contamination: It is due to the presence of polluting agents that affect rivers, seas and lakes. Generally it is the activity of the human being and his irresponsibility with respect to the environment, that through fertilizers, waste, garbage and fossil fuels that we throw into the sea, we produce this type of contamination. However, the origin can also be produced by natural processes such as the decomposition of organic and mineral materials.

Soil contamination: This is the presence of polluting chemical
substances that directly affect the earth's crust. Currently, the exploitation of the earth's natural resources is causing natural conditions to change. For example, mining, which ends up causing desertification of the areas, these later turn out to be unproductive or uninhabitable.

Radioactive contamination: It is the pollution caused by accidents or nuclear or mining activities. It is the presence of elements that can affect the soil, the air or contaminating the adjacent water courses. They are irreversible effects.

We know that the fault is not entirely ours, which is why we won't stand idly by, there are certain things we can do to reduce pollution, because it is never too late for a change.

We can use public transport such as the train, the subway or
the buses, to reduce the number of vehicles that circulate on the roads, at the same time reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.

The typical advice, recycling allows us to reuse certain materials, either to give them the same use or to find a new one. In addition, to contribute to the reduction of pollution in cities, it is better to avoid buying those products that have complex recycling processes, such as plastics.

Using renewable energy is also a very good way to consume less energy, and lastly, we must create and preserve green areas that are very important, as they help purify the air.

Conclusion

There are various types of pollution, but all of them are harmful to the environment, although humans are not the only culprits, if we can do anything about it, perhaps an action, something even if seen as insignificant, it can help create a better world, the environment is going to thank you.
