Barranquilla's Day Celebration

Barranquilla's Homage

The school was celebrating the emblematic 206 anniversary of Barranquilla's foundation during today's journey with an amazingly well-organized assembly that took place at the auditorium Javier Emilio Valencia from 8:00 am to 9:10 am and hosted by Mr. Frank Artuz.

Opening, there is a picture of Caroline Stockglaussner and Lauren Stamatel, American Teachers who pose with The Shark.

Many students performed different scenes of routines and people from our city, like a current day's life in Curramba, a beautiful selection of our famous characters. Among those depicted on stage, we had a parade from Shakira, Amalín De Hazbún, the dead Estercita Forero, La Arenosa's Girlfriend, Ernesto McCausland, some great soccer players from our team, Junior, etc. But there was a special guest who took everyone's attention: Junior's mascot, The Shark.

There were two students who sang La Luna De Barranquilla from Estercita Forero and an excellently read review of our city's anniversary and background history was also part of the amusing program. Other shows were the display of posters about Curramba, the dances with typical music from our carnival with songs that talk about La Arenosa, and a very nice poem recited by his author, Camilo Cerpa, dedicated to Barranquilla directly from San Jacinto.

Next gallery shows the many diverse portrayals on today's stage:
