Dory, the Female Bear that Wanted to Fly

In the depths of the coniferous forest there lives a family of bears in a humble cabin, one of these was Dory, a charming and dreamy little bear who spent time helping her family collecting honey and fruits to eat and in her free time, so she enjoyed going running and climbing the giant pine trees and mountains, just to see the sunset.

She also lives with her protective mother Mrs. Merry, who lives worried about Dory, since she is very curious and restless with her activities, her brother Morry who used to sleep a lot all the time and her uncle, called Mark, who is considered an outcasted, for a reason.

One day like another, Dory, tired of doing her work without rest, went to climb a giant pine tree, where only climbing was a difficult task. When she arrived, like a wind the sun vanished and, as expected, it was disappointing, but she stayed up.

While watching the stars, suddenly, in the darkly lit night, some birds were seen in the distance, flying north, Dory with her tremendous curiosity for the skies, asked herself the question "What would happen to my life if I could fly?" "Maybe my tasks won't be so exhausting, maybe it won't take me long to climb the tree" she said to herself and was dazzled with being the first bear that can fly. The idea could be crazy but it sticks in little Dory's head.

Quickly, under the tree Dory hurried to tell Morry her splendid idea, how wonderful it would be for a bear to fly! How easy and tiny the tasks would be!, When she arrived, unfortunately, for her bad luck, Morry was asleep like a log. That night Dory didn't sleep, she was excited and had a huge head because of everything she was going to do in the morning to achieve her will.

At the first song of a bird Dory woke up excited, had a quick breakfast, picked several fruits and headed to the end of the river where there was tons of garbage, sniffing and searching she found giant pieces of cardboard with worn rope. She molded the cardboard to look like a bird's wings and taped them to the sides, then climbed a tree enough, so he could try not to hurt herself in the process.

Then... 3, 2, 1, boom! She jumped as high as possible to be able to glide and in a microsecond he swallowed grass, iit didn't work, but he stubbornly continued jumping with the cardboard wings, but she gave up after spending 4 hours jumping. She started crying from frustration of wishing an  impossible dream that was difficult for her to digest.

At the end of the day,  she went home tired and depressed with no hope of trying again, but she found her mother, with worried eyes, who healed all her bruises and scrapes that she had on her body, ending by telling her "whatever you're doing, let it go, it won't turn out well." These words were strong for the little bear and, sobbing, she went to her bed where It was difficult for her to sleep, with her gaze lost on the roof of the cabin, thinking about what to do to fulfill her will.

In the morning, Dory was gray, she felt bad, at breakfast her brother Morry asked her what was wrong but she reluctantly told her:

-"don't make fun but I tried to fly, Morry but I realized it's impossible",

-Morry regretfully told her: "Don't worry, everything will be fine, don't rack your brains thinking about something without a solution."

- "But..."

-"Dory understands, it's not possible, or you can try to consult him."

- "Whom?"

- "Our uncle, the demented”

Dory got goosebumps instantly, she definitely didn't want to go, even though he could help her with her problem, it was very risky and adding to the fact of going through the gray forest a desolate and lifeless forest; she thought about it too much but she had no choice, except for trying to find out what she could achieve, so she got ready, she grabbed her red wine backpack where she carried food and more provisions, she told her mother that she was going to climb trees and left the house walking for which is known as the sinister path, the necessary path to get to her uncle Mark.

It is called that way because Mark, in one of his failed experiments, made a large part of that area of the forest explode, which left all the trees and grass gray and lifeless, there were no animals nearby. After the event, it was taken out of The house and Mrs. Merry did not want anything to do with him, and she made a cabin on her own at the site of the explosion.

After walking for half an hour, Dory managed to see her uncle's desolate cabin and approached, listening to pieces of metal falling to the ground. Everything felt strange, something told her that it wasn't a good idea, her whim grew bigger.

Marx, happy to see someone from her family, gave Dory a tight squeeze and asked her how things had been, how everyone was after the incident. Dory talked and talked, she told her uncle about her hobbies and about how her mother was doing, and then she became too overprotective of her, but most importantly, she asked her uncle if she could make her some wings. Marx's face shone; he didn't believe that someone from his family would come to him to do a project; He quickly began to grab pieces of metal and tools which he took to a small room.

Dory waited patiently for her uncle to come out even though it had already been 2 hours. Dory, bored, began to check her uncle's things and she found a jug of water with a yellow cover, she drank it and continued observing; Then she found a strange but simple device, it was a shiny rectangle. She didn't know what it was, but asked for some numbers, and there was a bigger one on the wall; however, she didn't know what it was for.

Dory, tired and about to leave, hears a "Hey!!" In the distance, it's her uncle with metal wings. Excited Dory with the help of her uncle, who began to put them on, it had many cables and clips, so it was complicated to put on, Dory was afraid but the excitement of flying made him impatient, his uncle explained to him that he only had to press the button that would elevate her, moving her arms to fly. It was a simple but effective mechanism and in the blink of an eye, Dory's feet were far from the ground. She felt pleased, but at that very moment she began to fall. She waved her arms like her uncle told her, but she couldn't fly. She was desperate, nothing was of any use to her. For an instant, Dory's wings grew!! She dropped the entire mechanism to the ground and began to fly, she turned, went up, down and saw the sun disappearing on the horizon. “"Isn’t it beautiful?" she exclaimed. He was quick to tell her uncle that maybe it was the drink that made her have wings but when she came down, her uncle was lying on the floor, crying and mourning the death of his niece.
