  1. Summary and elements.

Plot: In short, this story revolves around astronomy. There is a solar system, the Earth, and Mars like we know them today but in a twisted reality, where there has been contact from Earth with the other planets. The conflict is regarding a dark nebula, Noir, which consumes all organic life, light, electricity and even sound.

The Noir is spreading across space and thus alarms the astronomers to save the habitants of Spor, another planet, because they are afraid it will wipe everything out. Plus, they were once responsible for moving them there so they must remove them again.

The specialists (Jim Drake & Jerry Kos) travel to Spor in hopes of convincing its people about the danger they’re in and the urgency of their leave, but they do not respond nicely to the request. In the end, Spor does indeed vanish from existence due to the Noir, and return with the sole survivor: a puppy.

  1. The author's purpose/ theme in creating this story.

Sam Carson’s potential reason behind his book is probably the desire to show that humanity is ignorant per nature, and the existence of a in close proximity to a reality where people may or may not design an advanced technology capable of giving the opportunity people to travel in the speed of light, enabling them to migrate from planet to planet, with a possibility of being suctioned by a black hole. In fact, it's scientifically proven that the sun will eventually die and become a black hole. So in conclusion, the book shows an extreme but not impossible situation where humanity could be going through at some point. .

  1. Your opinion of the book and if you recommend it or not and your reasons.

Space Blackout its a science fiction novel that demonstrated to catch our attention from the first moment we started reading it, as the story starts strong with the expression ‘’I've seen a world die, and with it men who chose to remain and face the end because of love.’’

A deep, ‘’hard to understand why’’ kind of expression that opens to a narrative full of fiction, drama, compassion, and more elements that are crucial for us. These elements helped us enjoy the story and classify it as a good-quick and easy reading. We would absolutely recommend this book to any science fiction lover or any bookworm interested in a taste of futuristic science fiction.
