Once upon a time, a Catholic family in October, wanted to have some vacations, to get out of the comfort zone, they went to a cabin in a mountain for a week, isolated of the city, the car noises, and the rest of the world, barely arrived, an old man with eerie aspect, wrinkled clothes and a white beard, received them and showed the cabin.
When the tour ended, he got out of the house and said “An only caution... you have to follow is don’t open the door if someone knocks desperately for any reason, just open if is a girl’s smooth voice asking for some warm coffee, gives her the coffee asked for, but never talked to her and didn’t see her directly to the eyes”, disappearing in the forest, where 5 members of the family didn’t pay much attention to what he said. They were tired of that long trip, so they unpacked the suitcases, and went to rest.
Except for Esteban, the youngest of the family, since he realized that something wasn’t going well, and those instructions were weird, but he was sleepy, so he went to bed.
Next day, Esteban woke up and all his family was murdered, the cabin was full of blood in the walls...knives on the floor... and his mom was moron with strange material, he screamed and from one moment to the other, he appeared in the bed with the thought that “it was just a dream”, but a nightmare? or a vision?…
He left the bed and room to go to take his breakfast, he told his mom about the horrible dream he had to and his mom responded “relax sweetie, those things don't happen, probably the old man said that just jokingly, don't worry about that”, so Esteban was a little more calm but continued thinking about that.
Three days had passed and the boy was enjoying his vacations with his more important people, so far.. and that day Esteban and his father went to a lake that was close to the cabin for swimming.
When the daylight was running out with the heat of the sun, Esteban and Pablo, his father,were leaving the lagoon as well, on the way for going to the house, they heard a loud sound coming of the bushes, “it was an animal or something like that”, they thought, but it was more complex than an animal.
They arrived in the cabin, at dinner and went to bed, when everybody was sleeping, so Esteban woke up to go to the bathroom, he tried to sleep again, only that he was hungry because during dinner he didn't eat well, he walked until the door of the refrigerator, took a piece of bread and a glass of milk, Esteban sat down on the dining table, when Esteban finished eating, put the glass on the dishwasher and gave three steps for the room and the screamings started to sound, desperate dreams crying out for help, sudden knocks on the door, and a little boy without knowing what to do, he stayed in the middle of the house in a kind of shock, 2 minutes of suffering and the noises stopped, but right away a clear and soft voice calmly said: " please, I just want some hot coffee, is too cold here.
Esteban didn't want to interrupt his family sleep, so he opened without thinking, he prepared some coffee without saying any word, neither looking her in the eyes. When she finished the coffee, clearly said “thank you very much, I needed it”, the person who took off the mask was an old man.
Esteban thought, he couldn't resist looking at his face and asking himself, what was happening? the old man said “I said to you that you shouldn't look into my eyes…”
