Another Horror Strory: The Trip

—Ready for the trip? —said my dad stroking my hair and giving me one last kiss.

—Yes, of course. I’ve been waiting for this trip for months. —I replied, trying to get rid of my dad who was acting as if he didn’t want me to go—. I’ll be fine dad, don’t worry.

I went outside and immediately my best friend, Cooper, arrived. I got in the car and 10 minutes passed until I was at school.

—Ok guys, make a line. In order, please. Hey, HEY, JACOB, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?—As always, Jacob tried to escape whenever we could get outside the school.

Hours passed and we didn’t reach our destination. It was a small town on the outskirts of the city. I asked my teacher, Mr. Smith, how much more it would take us and he said that only for like 15 minutes. I spent the rest of the trip listening to music and sometimes talking to Cooper who was next to me.

A few minutes before we arrived we passed a tunnel and heard a big noise. It sounded like a bomb, but thank God nothing happened and we continued our trip…

When we got to the town, it was all silenced. No one was there, I thought it was strange but didn’t pay much attention to it.

We visited all the famous places in the town and had a lot of fun. We got on the bus and started our trip back to the city. I didn’t feel good going back home. I felt kind of strange but I didn’t know why. Like, something was missing. I tried to not pay much attention to it and enjoy the rest of the trip.

When we were entering the city, many people were crying and in shock. I asked Mr. Smith if he knew what was happening but he didn’t. Something wasn’t right.

As soon as I got home, I started looking for my parents, but they weren’t there (and was weird since they were always at home in the afternoon). I asked Cooper if he could help me to find them and accepted because he couldn’t find his mom either. He turned on the radio and we heard that a catastrophic accident occurred near the village we were in.

We looked everywhere for our parents and at last, found them at the place we least expected: the graveyard.

We approached them and saw what they were seeing. I couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t true. It couldn’t be. I searched for Cooper but he wasn’t there anymore. Then I understood it. The bomb we heard. We didn’t come out alive. Our family was there because of us. We died. I died.
