Essay about Climate Change
Question: Do you believe that trends such as reforestation and renewable energy will help to stop climate change? Why or why not?
Climate change is a serious problem that we have been facing for a couple of decades now, and if it continues at its current rate, life on Earth could potentially end. There have been many things that have been affected by climate change: Ice is melting, the temperature is rising, animals, especially the ones that live in Antarctica, are struggling to survive and find an optimal environment to live in, etc.
But over the years, the people have been trying to find different ways to stop this issue, mainly by looking at the main causes of it: Deforestation, pollution, usage of nonrenewable energy that can damage the Ozone layer, and others. Campaigns have started and most of these have one thing in common: Their main purpose is to restore the forests.
Reforestation is a method in which people restore the forests by planting trees, and it’s been kind of working but it hasn’t completely eradicated the main problem.
There are also some other methods to prevent any further impact from climate change to our planet. One of them is the usage of renewable energy such as hydraulic energy (Usage of water as an energy source), wind power and solar panels which use the Sun as an energy source.
The usage of renewable energy has come in handy. With renewable energy, oil, diesel, and other damaging nonrenewable energy sources are replaced by nature friendly energy sources. Recently, there are more and more cars that use electricity instead of diesel as fuel, and this is a good thing because most of the damage to the air has been made by vehicles that use diesel and release tons of carbon dioxide and other substances into the air, and electricity doesn’t damage the air.
Unfortunately, society hasn’t adapted to the usage of renewable energy. There are some companies that already use renewable energy, but the rest haven’t and it’s important to fully implement renewable energy to our society because when we do, the good impact on the environment will be huge.
To wrap things up, can reforestation and renewable energy help to stop climate change? Yes, but we still have a long way to go to stop climate change.
