My Literary Analysis of an American Native Folk Tale
Theme.
There are two women: Mrs. Water and Mrs. Wind.
One day, Mrs. Water starts hating Mrs. Wind, so she kills her 2 kids; however, for me this story is really sad but at the same time shows to us how a mother cares for her kids.
voice: I think that all the story was in second person.
main conflict: External, because Mrs. Water thought that Mrs. Wind and her kids were annoying, that’s why she killed them.
mood: It’s too exaggerated because I don’t think that someone killed her ‘friends’ kids just because they are annoying.
man vs man: When Mrs.Wind fights with Mrs. Water.
My own ending:
Unfortunately, when Mrs.Wind arrived and her children had been drowned by Mrs.Water, Mrs. Wind was sad and angry because she did not think that her only friend would do that to her. Mister Fire, Mrs. Water, Mrs. Wind and Mister Earth have only one wish for all eternity, and in that moment of sadness Mrs. Wind remembered that she could make a wish, but she couldn't ask someone to revive her chillun, since it was impossible.
So, later on, her wish was to become a human and the next day Mrs. Wind was already a human, so she went to the place where the lady Water killed her children and something extraordinary happened. Mrs. Water realized that every night, at 12 o'clock at night, she could meet her children, they were in a cave where only at 12 o'clock the moon shone in the center of the cave and Mrs. Water’s children appeared.
Now, Mrs. Water is 60 years old and she goes every night at the same place to meet her kids just for 1 minute.
