Conmebol works together with the government of Argentina to present a biosecurity protocol that allows the 2021 Copa América to be held in their country.
However, the governing body does not rule out that the continental competition can be held together, as had been planned with Colombia, which, finally, ended up losing the host of the tournament of nations.
In dialogue with "Radio La Red de Argentina", the Deputy General Secretary of Conmebol (Gonzalo Belloso), confirmed that Chile is an option to share headquarters with Argentina, so that next week a final decision on the countries that will receive the competition.
Likewise, Belloso explained that if Chile remains the host of the Cup, the southern team would become the head of the series, which would imply that Colombia moves to group A in which Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia are.
"Chile can take over the part that corresponded to Colombia. If that happens, Colombia will go to Argentina's group. There are no other options."
Colombia could change the lot in the Copa América and would go from being head of group B (Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru) to being part of group A.
