In Seconds, She Lost Everything
What that girl saw was never seen by anyone, but her. That morning, a weird ringing in her ear started, no… it was more like the sounds of a siren or a whale. It was constant, it never stopped.
In a main city, somewhere in America lived an ungrateful girl. She had everything that she needed in life: A family, a house, food, education, and even more than what she actually needed. Yet, she always asked for more, she didn’t care about anything that they gave her. This girl never listened to her parents, was rude and was often described as a brat.
After a fight with her parents (because of her constant extravagant expenses and improper use of her money), she went to buy even more. On her way back home, her ear started buzzing, it sounded like a whale crying. The girl thought it was a bug, but as soon as she started losing her sight she knew it was something else. The more she walked, the least she was able to see and that sound intensified. There was a short moment of peace. It didn’t last much though. Seconds after, a black figure appeared everywhere and chased her.
The girl started running in desperation, when she arrived home there was nothing but ashes. Everything had burned in fire. She didn’t know what had happened, but suddenly... she collapsed.
The girl woke up disoriented. Now, two bad news awaited her. First, her parents disappeared, and second she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She broke down in tears, her sadness was marked by the fact that she had lost everything in seconds. Her life was now in risk, and she had no one to be with and no one to go to.
Behind the doctor, there sat the dark figure, staring at her with a big smile in its face. The strange shadow pronounced the words “From everything to nothing”.
She turned pale, apparently the only one that could hear and see the figure was her. Months later, her parents appeared after being kidnapped by military forces, due to their business.
It could’ve been a happy ending, with a family back together. However, the girl didn’t make it. What was once known as her, was now a dark shadow… a weird entity. That in pain follows ungrateful humans, who don’t appreciate every second of their life.
