First let's talk about why it is necessary to live and have harmony and peace in the world, peace not only means the absence of war, but it implies having an environment free from all forms of violence. Getting to talk about peace is to be able to seek in our own person that harmony that we often lose.
Reducing violence in the world brings us closer to a greater state of peace, but it does not guarantee absolute peace. In fact, despite the efforts of great men and women to establish peace on earth; it has not been fully conquered.
How could true peace be achieved in Colombia and in the world?
For me, justice and truth would be important to have harmony and peace since clarifying the truth is essential to achieve lasting peace and social change. It helps reduce tensions between warring parties by revealing and validating the experiences of diverse groups.
The truth is one of the most important and essential things. No peace process can deny the right to the truth, because then that peace is built on a lie; and on the other hand Justice is one of the key institutions for the development of human societies. A society without justice will never be able to be at peace with itself.
If there is no truth, justice is incomplete. Without truth, it is not possible to establish who is responsible for human rights violations and infractions to international humanitarian law. Without justice there is no redress and without redress there are not enough possibilities to prevent atrocities from happening again.
