CHAPTERS 1-6
A plane carrying a group of boys crashed on a deserted island. They looked for each other and made groups with different tasks.
Ralph, the leader, sends a group to explore, and one to hunt and keep a fireplace going for a boat to see them. Ralph complains about the attitude of the other boys, they get excited about the ideas that they have but then they don't do anything to accomplish them.
Jack, the leader of the hunting team was obsessed with catching a pig so he went hunting but he let the fire go out. Ralph and Piggy saw a boat getting close to the island but as they didn’t have any fire the boat went away. Jack came back with his pig but everyone except for the hunting team was angry at him. Ralph calls for a reunion where he tells everyone to be more responsible about their tasks, then he mentions that there are no beasts or monsters in (on) the island but a littlun (little one) says otherwise, he says that he has seen one.
Everyone but Ralph, Simon and Piggy went to hunt the mentioned beast. That night, some military planes were fighting, they couldn’t see it because the ones that were in charge of the fire went to sleep. When they got up, they started the fire again, but then they saw a dead parachuter from the fight and mistook it for the beast. They told Ralph and together decided to go and investigate the island.
CHAPTERS 7-12
While climbing up the mountain Ralph complains about the behavior of the group, then they see a pig and hunt them while looking for the beast. The boar finally escapes so they start playing with a kid named Robert, he plays boar and they try to hunt him.
Robert ends injured so they stop playing. Simon goes and tells Piggy and the littluns that they will be back late. Jack tells Ralph to have a race to the top of the mountain. When they get there, they see a shadow with the shape of a big ape so they hurry back to the group to warn them. The next morning Jack tries to get Ralph out of the leadership but no one supports him.
Jack finally goes away and says that anyone who wanted to go with him could do so. At night some of them sneak out of the group and go with Jack. In the morning, Ralph builds up a new fireplace in the beach, Jack comes and invites everyone to a feast that he’s having that night. Simon goes into the forest with a pig’s head and leaves it as an offering to the beast. Then the head’s surroundings start filling with flies and Simon the voice of “Lord of the flies” tells him that he will never escape and then he faints.
When he awakens and sees the dead man in the parachute from before, he understands that his friends mistook him for the beast. At the feast Jack proposes everyone to join his tribe again and most of them accept. Jack orders everyone to start dancing around and then they start playing as if they were hunting a pig, suddenly they see a shadow in the forest and run at it to kill it. It was Simon. The next morning, Ralph blames himself for Simon’s death while Piggy says that it wasn’t their fault. Jack and his group believe that it truly was the beast and that it could change its appearance.
At night, Jack’s group raids Ralph’s, hurts them and steals Piggy’s glasses to make fire. Ralph decides to go to Jack’s camp to ask them to give Piggy’s glasses back as they can’t fire up the fire signal without them. Jack attacks Ralph and Roger throws a rock at Piggy who dies falling off the mountain. Then Ralph runs into the forest while Roger and Jack force the last members of Ralph’s group to join their tribe.
Jack sends everyone to hunt Ralph down and they start pursuing him, he also sets the whole jungle on fire, Ralph finally gets to the beach and collapses. When he wakes up he sees an officer in front of him who says that he saw the fire and asks them how is it possible to lose all reverence for civilization in such a short time.
