NBA Announces 2021 All-Star Game
The league on Thursday revealed the Eastern and Western Conference starters as determined in voting by fans, players, and media. The game will be in Atlanta, and the date is March 7.
The East starters are Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Washington’s Bradley Beal, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid.
The West starters are James, Golden State’s Steph Curry, Dallas' Luka Doncic, Denver’s Nikola Jokic, and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard. James, who is the all-time leading scorer in All-Star history with 385 points, also finished with the most fans votes (5,922,554) ahead of Durant (5,567,106).
Durant is an All-Star starter in his first season back since sustaining a ruptured Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals. It's his 11th All-Star appearance. Durant and Irving each have been voted as starters with three franchises — Durant with Oklahoma City, Golden State, and Brooklyn and Irving with Cleveland, Boston, and Brooklyn.
