What Does Happiness Feel Like?
Tempting question to go by
When you feel like you’re not right
Wishing for this feeling in desperate cry
When no answer is what you want
And when no feeling can describe
It seems like you don’t
Know what happiness is like
How do you feel when happiness strikes?
Does it feel like lightning
Or is that a fantasy? Just a mask
Does it feel like sunflowers and a bit of sun?
Or does it feel like fresh air, or is that just overdone?
Do you get used to it and just become numb?
Maybe that’s why happiness it seems, I don’t return.
In which moments do you feel as happy as it can be?
When you’re old on a farm, growing a big apple tree?
When you run in a dress and the air smells like fresh mint?
When you look through the window and you know that you are being freed.
Is happiness found where you’ll never think it could?
If I look in places they have not told me I should?
Is it where you don’t know if they’re telling you the truth?
Because maybe happiness existing, just isn’t true.
Maybe happiness is just the masquerade of something horrible that we have no clue
Because even through the years, I haven’t found no view,
Where happiness strikes me like a lightning might do.
