ARTHUR.

Arthur Crawford was the most requested detective in the city, even in the country. Everyone wanted him to help them at their difficult cases since throughout his career as a detective he had solved all the cases that he had gotten.

One day, someone contacted him due to an alleged suicide that had occurred and nobody had been able to solve since it made no sense. All the police body and the forensics working on this case agreed to tell everyone that it was a suicide because none of them could tell otherwise, they didn’t found any evidence of someone shooting him or of someone being there at the time of his dead. But there was one person who knew that it was impossible for Jack to kill himself, he had no reason to do it.

Before his death, Jack didn’t change his behavior or his way of living, he was just normal, like any other person. So when her wife realized this, she immediately called Mr Arthur Crawford to help her get to the murderer that killed her husband or at least to help her understand how it was possible for him to kill himself. Crawford agreed to participate immediately because he found this case interesting and challenging, that was the kind of case he liked the most.

Crawford made his way quickly to the place where the body was found. He analyzed the whole scene , studied the small details and finally he asked the forensics and relatives things about how they found the body, if the man told them something before dying, among other things. After collecting all the information, he came to the conclusion that evidently the man had not committed suicide, it made no sense that he had shot himself for a lot of reasons, one of them, he ”shot himself” in the neck. If he wanted to commit suicide, it was easier to shoot himself in the head.

As Arthur began to think, he saw some mud in the floor, at first he thought it was normal because it rained a lot that week, but then he saw that the mud was coming from a broken window, one of the two that were broken at that room, when he looked out the window he saw a building, a building were there was another window where the shot that killed Jack could have been fired from, he took his belongings and went to that exact spot in the building.

When he got there, he tested if a sniper could have had the angle to shoot Jack from there, but it wasn’t possible, then he thought to himself “What if the sniper was left-handed?” So he tested if a left-handed sniper could have made the shot, and it was possible. Everything fitted, if a sniper shot him from that place, the bullet would go through one window, then through Jack’s neck, killing him, and then it would go through the other window for no one to find it.

Arthur knew that one person couldn’t have planned all that mess alone because someone had to put a gun in Jack’s hand to make it seem like a suicide, therefore he looked out for places where someone could have climbed from to get to Jack’s window. And he saw a trace of mud in the wall that was pointing directly to Jack’s room. It was then when Arthur knew that he had solved the case, he had narrowed down the search a lot because there are not many left-handed shooters in the world.

As Arthur already knew who he had to find . Along with the police they began to search hard for the left-handed sniper and even though there weren’t many, they managed to find 3. One of them was not even from the country, and although the murder was highly planned, it was impossible that he had done all that when there was not even chance or evidence that he had come to the city. The second one was already dead, so only one suspect remains, and what a coincidence that he lived near the crime scene.

Arthur found the address where the shooter was and went along with the police. When they arrived they took the man by surprise, Arthur began to ask him questions and tell him everything he had done and at first he denied it but when he saw that Arthur told him everything in detail, he accepted the blame and the police proceeded to capture him.
