The Godfather: Part II
I recently watched The Godfather trilogy directed by Francis Ford Coppola that also casts actors such as Al Pacino and Marlon Brando. I decided to review the second movie of them all because it is the one I have liked the most so far.
This movie is said to be one of the best among the cinema industry and I can’t say I disagree at all, despite being a 3 hour long movie that includes an intermission I found myself so into the movie due to its plot and how real it felt , as if it could easily be a true story ( The family in the books and movie are based upon a real family but the plot and events of them are fictional according to Mario Puzo that is the writer of the book and screenplay of the trilogy).
I absolutely love how in this movie they show to us how Vito and his son Michael Corleone are actually quite similar in some aspects as they show us the childhood of them both.
The sudden events in the movie happen in such a quick but slow moment that makes it even better to watch. I like this movie better than the first one because it portrays a much more real image of the mafia world instead of romanticizing it as the first movie did in my opinion; however, I like the coherence between the two movies and all the counterpoints of them.
It was very entertaining to watch how Michael Corleone was kept from achieving his goal of the family’s image because of his own pride and loss of touch after getting deeply involved in the business world.
I could go on about all the things I loved about this movie but this review would not come to an end if I did. Lastly, I would totally recommend this trilogy to everyone who’s interested in realistic and powerful acting that also likes crime and mafia families movies.
