E.I. and Handling Social Life

Intrapersonal Skills To Foster Interpersonal Reationships

How to Process Your Emotions - YouTube
Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at school, and work, and achieve your career and personal goals. It can also help you to connect with your feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.

Emotional intelligence is especially important to survive in society. It is one of the most fundamental things, and every human being needs to manage and understand their emotions. Our social life, and our life in general, circles around the idea of interacting with others. We need to be sociable to have a good and serene life, because of this you need to know how to regulate your emotions and how to use them in every environment. The hard part of understanding others' emotions is that you have to first be aware of you and self-manage your own ones.

There are a lot of things that might help you to understand your emotions, for example asking yourself: How I am feeling? Why am I feeling this way? What caused me to feel this way? How do I control this? If you are feeling angry, sad or you just want to scream or cry, count to ten, breathe in and out, and in a serene voice deal with this situation. You know that you have mastered controlling your emotions if you know how you are feeling and if you know how to deal with the situation you are dealing with.

Now, you must take another step, and understand the emotions of others. The funny part about this is that we, as humans do not like to express our emotions, most of us like to stay with them inside and do not like to talk about them. This is when nonverbal communication comes. The facial expressions of others, how they are standing, or how their eyes are might help you to understand how the other person is feeling. If you pay close attention and have that nonverbal perception, you are in the middle of the way of understanding others' emotions.

The other part of the road is feeling empathy and knowing how to help that person. You must ask yourself: If I was in that person's shoes, how I would be feeling? How can I help this person? If this person was me?

There are also little things that you need to know to understand how you feel. Motivation, for example, is one of the most important things in life, without it, you cannot do anything. Motivation is an important life skill. Every person on this earth is unique and has a purpose. To steward your purpose well, you must be motivated to work towards your goals which helps your dreams become a reality.

You need to be flexible, not everything you want to do, or the way you want it is going to result in that way, sometimes you have to listen to other's ideas and have flexible planning for everything.

You must pay attention to important things and useful things for your life, you have to redirect your attention to things that really matter and leave the bad things behind.

You need to be creative; creativity is everything. Being creative helps you become a better problem solver in all areas of your life and work, creativity helps you see things differently and better deal with uncertainty.

Having and mastering all these skills help you to achieve the things you want for your life, have initiated and help you to become a better leader for others and yourself, obviously emotional self-control which helps you at the same time with adaptability to different environments, in your self-confidence and for being conscious of what is going around you and others.
Social competence and transparency towards others are also involved in this, which helps others to understand you better and you will get better with them because you are a trustful person. Managing your emotions helps you in conflict solving to avoid bigger problems that can affect you and others too.

It is not the smartest people who are the most successful or the most fulfilled in life. You probably think that having a high IQ is going to fulfill your life, but you need to have an IQ and EQ to achieve that.
