MY ESSAY
Emotional
intelligence is the
ability to understand and manage your own emotions, and those of the people
around you. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence know what they
are feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect other
people. There are five key elements of emotional intelligence, Self-awareness, Self-regulation,
Motivation, Empathy, and Social skills.
Self-awareness Refers to
knowledge of our own feelings and emotions and how they influence us. It is
important to recognize the way our mood affects our behavior, what are our
abilities and what are our weak points. In this way we avoid making decisions
when we are incredibly happy or angry, and we make them at the right time.
Self-regulation allows us to reflect and dominate our feelings or
emotions, so as not to be blindly carried away, we always must regulate
ourselves because you can do things that you will regret later. Motivation
Focusing emotions towards goals and objectives allows us to maintain motivation
and focus on goals rather than obstacles, we always must focus on what we want
and not think about obstacles but what we will achieve.
Empathy is the ability to
perceive, share or infer in the feelings, thoughts and emotions of others, based
on the recognition of the other as similar, that is, as a similar individual
with his own mind, you always have to think in others, perceive what they feel,
not just what they say. Social skills are especially important since having a
good relationship with others, not only causes happiness to other people but
also to you.
For me, emotional intelligence is very important, each of the elements
are essential for everyone's life, although sometimes we do not control our
emotions, I think that thinking before acting is the key, it is also very
important to always think in others, one should never believe that the world
belongs to you and the others live rented, we all deserve the same value, each
of the people around us deserve the same respect.
It is also important to focus on the goals you set for yourself, and
never give up. In times of sadness or joy, you have to think before acting,
because sometimes we get carried away by impulses and hurt people that we do
not want to hurt, or we damage things that were important to us, and I know
that doing all these things is not that easy, but over time we acquire each of
these elements in our daily life, and although sometimes we may not be able to
control it, we must always try.
