COVID-19 and mental health

OUR MENTAL HEALTH IN TIMES OF QUARANTINE

Infectious disease outbreaks, like the current Coronavirus (COVID-19), can be scary and can affect our mental health. While it is important to stay informed, there are also many things we can do to support and manage our wellbeing during such times.

Here are some tips we hope will help you and your family to look after your mental health at a time when there is much discussion of potential threats to our physical health.

1. Sleep between seven and eight hours each night (without the interruption of digital devices!!)

2. Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting.

3. Take care of your body. Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditateexternal icon. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep (avoid alcohol and drugs), try to do some other activities you enjoy.

4. Last but not least, we recommend you to stay positive, think that pur govenment is doing its best for solving this issue and you should trust that everything eventually would be back normal.
