The Grinch
For most of the people, this is another school
tradition in
which you can see teachers running around you, parents charging
their phones, so they can record a video of their children finally dancing for
that one day of the school year when people are freaking out because of
costumes, hair styles, and makeup.
Undoubtedly, for some of us, a
school play might excite us and for others, this isn’t their #1 choice, but
honestly, it is the first time for most of us to impersonate and enact some of
our favorite characters and also to dance in front of an audience, so it is
that first opportunity to test your performance skills.
Our school has being known for
doing some serious plays,
with awesome costumes, lights, music, and decoration.
This year the corresponding play was a Christmas classic from one of the
greatest authors of all time, Dr. Seuss: “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is an
epic story that involves Green vs Who. There is no creature more villainous
than Mr. Grinch, until he discovers what this holiday is really about.
The difference between this play
and the others we've done is that the acts were classified by electives and not
grades, meaning that there was a dance for basketball, art, literature, ballet,
ASMUN, and football, among many others, in which spectators saw the skills of
every student in their subject; thus, in both shows we carried out on December
5th, the theater was full, and the support from our parents was very evident.
This was a different transition,
despite mixed reactions,
everyone of us did a great job, and could share with
each other this awesome time of the year, and for the little ones it was an
experience of stepping forward in front of the public eye for the first time.
See you next year!
