Research Essay on Climate Issues

Thirst For Money and Global Consequences

This essay is based upon important topics such as deforestation and erosion, but both of them are created as a result of our own bad decisions. Climate Change is a unwelcome issue in today's world, truly the biggest we have, and sadly, it is worsening day by day.

Deforestation is the action of cutting and/or burning down the forest which still cover about 30% of the Earth’s surface, but each year about 13 million hectares of forest are converted into agricultural land or cleared for other purposes. As an effect of this, we get climate change which also affects erosion.

Erosion is the geological process in which earthen materials
are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water. While erosion is a natural process, it can be modified and accelerated by many factors like climate change or human activities; for instance, agriculture has increased by 10-40 times the rate at which erosion is occurring globally.

In my opinion, what causes deforestation is basically just the human race and its thirst for money. I think that humans would be happy deforesting the entire world if they get well paid for doing it. Wishing money is not bad, everyone wants it, what is bad is the means that you use to get it. By deforesting you are damaging your own home, the Earth.

I can conclude that deforestation and erosion are real issues and we need to stop them as soon as possible, because if we don't, we are not going to survive much more time, at least not on this planet.
