THE SEVEN MISSING
October 16th, 1965. 4:00 pm
A normal day in London, or that was what people believed. Lately, in the neighborhood of Notting Hill, strange things had been happening... 7 people had disappeared, and nobody knew
what was happening. But, the person behind this, did not know that in that city, there was one of
the best detectives in the country. I'm talking about James Smith, the investigator in charge of
this case.
"When did you see John for the last time?" - asks the detective.
"I saw him about 2 days ago, he was a frequent customer, but suddenly he stopped coming. I
don't know what could have happened to him" - replies the owner of the bar
"What do you know about him? Does he have family here?" - James asks
"I understand that he had a wife, but unfortunately she was unfaithful, even having two
daughters with him. I think she left town with them, since I have not seen them again"
- replies the Sir.
And so, the detective was all afternoon, questioning several people, if they had any information
about the missing.
A lady, named Evie, said she had seen something that night, a kind of weird animal, with
characteristics that the London detective had never heard of.
"It is about 1.60 mts, it was also quite hairy," said the lady to the detective.
"He's tall enough to be an animal" - James thought .
There were about 7 missing people so far. James could not allow the number to continue increasing, so he got down to work.
Following the only track he had, he decides to wait for the night, walking the streets of Notting
Hill, always carefully, trying to go unnoticed, but suddenly, he feels a strong impact on the
head, and falls unconscious. When he gets up, he realizes that his weapon had disappeared, so
he decides that it was better to wait for tomorrow. He could not work knowing that now his enemy
is armed, so he decided to stay in a hotel.
October 17th, 1965. 9:00 am.
The next day, he learns that Mrs. Evie, the lady who had given James the most important clue,
had been found lifeless at home. A gunshot had been the cause of her death. James felt so
guilty, was enraged and felt as if he hadn't been so weak, that lady wouldn't have died.
For some reason, he remembered John, one of the disappeared, so he decided to investigate
about it in the notary of the site. He was able to find out that he was a retired soldier. It
seemed strange to James that they could "disappear" someone like him, an ex-military man, so
simply.
So investigating a little more, he discovered that James' wife was named Amelie
Brown, and curiously she was also reported missing, but she had been missing for almost 1
year. James Smith also realized that the other 6 missing people, were only men, which seemed
quite odd, but investigating a little more, he could realize that the 6 people shared something
in common... They were all born in the same city, and they had brown hair. The 6
measured about 1.80 mts. It seemed to James it was too much coincidence that all men had such similar
characteristics, but then James remembered what the lord of the bar had said... The wife had
been unfaithful to John, so everything was beginning to make sense.
John, blinded by anger, kills his wife and daughters, and because of all the anger and guilt he
felt, he tries to see his wife's lover as the culprit, so he goes behind those who resembled the
lover of his wife. He had lost his sanity. That was the conclusion James had reached. Now, the
only thing left is to catch John, so James prepares himself and decides to go, this time accompanied by
2 officers.
October 18th, 1965. 11:00 pm.
James knows he is in danger, he is facing someone with experience in close combat, but he has
an idea to attract him. With everything ready, James decides to test his plan. A fairly simple
and risky plan, but it should work. They went to the center of the neighborhood, blocking the 3
entrances, and began shouting his name, calling him a murderer.
They listened to someone running around.
"I DID NOT WANT!!!" - the stranger shouts.
A gentleman dressed in long, furry clothes, quickly arrives downtown, about 1.60 mts, as Evie had
described. Quickly, one of the officers fires his gun, hitting John in the leg, leaving him
motionless, quickly losing consciousness.
