The Hawk, Tim and Adam: Retold by Rosmery Anaya.
A Mouse called Adam, who always lived on the land, by an unlucky chance became acquaintance with a Frog called Tim, who lived for the most part in the water.
Tim one day had an idea just to show how mischievous he was, so he tied the foot of Adam tightly to his own. Thus joined together, Tim first of all led his friend Adam to the meadow where they were accustomed to find their food.
After this, he gradually led him towards the pool in which he lived, until he suddenly jumped in, dragging Adam with him.
Tim enjoyed the water amazingly, and swam croaking all the time, as if he had done a great deal. The unhappy Mouse Adam was soon suffocated by the water, drowned; as a consequence, his dead body floated on the surface, tied to the foot of Tim.
A Hawk observed them and went on pouncing upon it with his sharp claws, carried it aloft. Tim, who was still fastened to the leg of Adam, was also carried off the water as another pray, and was easily eaten by the Hawk.
Now, think of its moral lesson and send it to us.
