Herme’s Freedom

Herme’s Freedom

Once upon a time in a faraway land, there was a man called Hermenegildo Zechariah whose son was named after him, but to differentiate between them people called him Herme. This man had lost his wife from tuberculosis at a very young time in their marriage, and a couple years after Hermeʼs birth. That was the reason why from their marriage there weren’t any other kids because she died before she could conceive another child.

Hermenegildo, since a very young age, raised his son with a lot of things from his mom; for example, his love towards horses. Hermeʼs mom used to love horses so the dad showed to the little boy how beautiful they are.

One day he was at the barn looking for his horse named American Pharao, as usually, to take him on a little ride around his farm.

Unfortunately that day a snake snuggled itself into the barn,
and stayed there. While in the barn, as soon as Herme hopped on the horse, he saw the snake and started to run and jump around because of how scared the poor horse was. Little Hermes felt down and hit his neck, so his dad had to hurry and call a doctor.

Immediately the doctor arrives and evaluates the little Herme. That moment changed Hermes’s life because the Doctor said that the injury that Herme had was so bad that he wouldn’t walk again and he could only move his hands.

When his father saw his son, he got depressed all nights because at that time Herme's injuries that were scattered everywhere would hurt the most, so he suffered a lot to see his little boy in that much pain.

One day,  Herme’s father woke up and with a gun ended the life of his son. His words were: “I kill you because you don’t deserve this since it was my entire fault” and then committed suicide.

To this day all the families that buy the big house can hear the voice of Herme’s father repeating his last words and they can also see little Herme riding American Pharao and running throughout the house.

The End
