Animals on the verge of extinction: a silent epidemic.

Species on the brink of extinction serve as a stark reminder of our planet's fragility and the importance of conservation. Animals play a vital role in ecosystems, maintaining the delicate balance of nature and providing essential services like pollination, seed dispersal, and pest regulation. The loss of biodiversity not only threatens the survival of these species but also has far-reaching consequences for the health of our planet and human well-being.

During our Earth Day and Tree day here in the school, we had the opportunity to present the “Animals on the verge of extinction” hallway, where students from different grades participated in a variety of presentations, peaceful protests and awareness activities of the diverse species of animals that are in the verge of extinction nowadays.

We also had a Nature Mural competition in which our students from 9th, 10th and 11th grade participated winning 1st and 2nd place.

On the picture: Andrea Salgado, Victoria Merchan and Antonia Escobar Step 10.

As well as the Mini posters competition, in which kids from 7th, 8th and 9th Grade won recognitions for their hard work!

With great talent the kids decorated the halls with visual representations of the world, biomes, nature and the importance of it. It's crucial that we take action to protect and conserve these species, not just for their inherent value, but for the benefit of all living beings, and the best way to teach this to our students is by learning collectively with them!

Wonderful Job from our students and a Big Thank You for the Judges and main coordinator of this activity, Mr Andres Galvis, Mr Jhon Simarra and Mrs Odilia Perez.
