Catalina was paying attention to her class when suddenly the Cervantes' section's director entered the classroom. He expresses that a robbery has occurred. Gabriel, a student from fifth grade, had brought 400,000 pesos for buying the books for Italian, French, and German classes. They were missing.
The rumor spread quickly. The whole class started the sabotage and gossiping when the director once again and more firmly than before, took up the word. He starts to explain what had happened. It occurred after the break, the student went to the restroom before starting the selling activity for math class, and left the money over his stall, in a jacket.
When Gabriel returned, the jacket was still there, but there was no money. He panicked and caught the teacher's attention. Mister Camilo knew exactly what to do, he wrote Mister Philip via WhatsApp what had just happened. And so, Mister Philip started to go to the classrooms to ask the students. It was already lunchtime and there was no response.
As soon as mister Philip finishes spreading the news and asking if someone has seen the money, a student from 7th grade approaches him. She says that she can’t find her notebook, she has been searching all day long but hasn’t seen it. She expresses that she left it on her table before going to break, she forgot to put it on her locker because she was excited due to the selling activity, but when she returned, her notebook was not there, so she looked over the whole class and asked her classmates, but no one had seen it.
Now, mister Philip has two mysteries to solve: the money's apparent robbery and the notebook's disappearance. The second mystery was not as strange as the first one, but it was as important to be solved. Mister Philip didn’t know what to do, he needed to solve these two mysteries before the journey ended. He went to his office while thinking of what could have happened when he met Miss Mariana, the school's nurse, who started to claim that she has a girl in the nursing home that is in a lot of pain due to a headache but refuses to go home because she has an important exam in the final class.
Right away, Mr. Philip accompanies her to the nursing home and tries to persuade her to go home, and take the exam later on or the next day. He takes the opportunity to ask her if she knows something about the missing money. It turns out that Marie has no idea that there was any missing money. A minute later, Mister Philip tells her the story. She stays thinking for almost a minute, when all of a sudden, she tells him that she is the one who has the money.
And everything happens as follows, she said to me: Gabriel is her brother and she took the money because she believed it was going to be safer with her, a 10th grader. She didn’t say anything to Gabriel because she started to feel bad the moment she took the 400,000 pesos. Also, she was the one who took the notebook, but it was a mistake. When she was leaving the class she saw the notebook on the table, so she thought it was hers because it has the same cover as her classmate’s. The two mysteries were only a misunderstanding. Mister Philip was more relieved than ever. Sometimes mysteries are only misunderstandings and bad communication...
