He...didn't mean to kill her
I know he got confused because of the figure we saw in that lake… we thought it was a monster.
It was winter when we were going to my brother's house. Behind the house there was a lake, it wasn’t so creepy until that day. Some seconds after we arrived we saw mist coming out of it and entering through the windows. Then I saw a shadow of something I had never seen before. I thought it was because of a tree that the mist changed into a creepy figure. I didn't say anything to my brother because he got the house for a really cheap price.
Little did we know about why it was so cheap. After dinner my brother and I were talking about what happened in the lake some hours ago. He saw that too, he thought the lake was a hell-like portal to another place. I thought he was just joking but his eyes were as serious as if it was real. It was so frightening. It was all silent, then we heard a demonic scream coming from the lake....I saw the same figure again. We got really scared. We went inside my brother's room. That's when I realized. Where is my wife? The shadow entered the house and I immediately knew it was my wife. I was gonna tell my brother but I couldn’t see him because of all the mist.
She walked so quietly, so silent towards me. My brother screamed so loud the creature got scared. She was now running towards my brother. We crawled towards the basement searching for something to protect ourselves. My brother was a hunter so he had a box with guns in the basement. There was only one bullet but it was enough for him. Some seconds passed and I found an exit from the basement to the backyard. Then I called the police for help, but they didn’t answer. Then my phone started ringing. That thing came running towards us… He shot it.The only thing I could hear was a deep silence. Then the police sirens.
It was my wife. I knew it but didn’t want to believe it, I felt she was already dead. I was so distracted with my brother I didn’t even notice she wasn’t with us in the car. We had left her in the minimarket. I don’t know what actually happened but the police arrested my brother and confirmed she died from a shot in the chest, the weird thing is...He shot her in the head.
