The Role Of Globalization In Our Lives

Essay

Don't you think it's curious? That henna you have laying around to do your eyebrows, or maybe those chopsticks from your last sushi order, or even if you look at your desk, there you can see that PC, and what happens with that pizza restaurant card? How do we all have knowledge about all these things around us if maybe you haven’t tapped a foot in China, nor India?Globalization can separate and also bring us together as an international community with growing chances.

This is where globalization comes in, connecting with new cultures, good and bad aspects to it. I mean, who doesn’t want to meet new people? Know and learn about their culture and take in different information along with perspectives that you maybe would have never put yourself into. It might be the case for new job offers from those huge companies you look up to, or maybe new products at a more affordable price for your family. Everything looks pure and full of opportunities.

Nevertheless, this also has an ugly side. The one that is mostly witnessed by all the families that get separated by that PC, the cellphones, or the laptops that would rather keep them in contact, as well as they may then take advantage of the international Kobe opportunities, are also damaged by it, since the powerful companies only see these people as peons, so they lower their salaries to their own accord and the vulnerable people are put in a situation where they have to choose between a misery for salary or no money at all. Imagine yourself giving your all, breaking your back everyday for your family just to receive the bare minimum or sometimes even less.

To sum it up, you may be witnessing the nice part of globalization that benefits you, or you may be living the part that's damaging you and your family instead. We have to realize that things need to change even though we acknowledge that for things to be totally balanced, it  is almost impossible to keep them all happy; moreover, it would be just an utopia.
