Possibly the Most Important Week in the Videogame Industry
With the arrival of summer, gamers around the world have been waiting for announcements, and with good reason. Every summer, every year (except for 2020), the biggest videogame event is held: The Electronic Entertainment Expo (or E3, for short). Here, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and many other videogame companies share to the people news regarding the new games that’ll come out in the future, and they could probably announce brand new and upgraded consoles to play.
But over the years, more and more events have been done, some being the Summer Game Fest and the Future Games Expo. But even if there are loads of videogame events to watch, gamers know that the big stuff will be present at E3.
In order to make keep the gamers patiently waiting, companies such as Sony and Nintendo have decided to make digital presentations called the State of Play and the famous Nintendo Direct. Here, they announce more games, downloadable content (or DLC), console exclusives, and many other things. Microsoft has done stuff like this as well, where they announce new games and also show gameplay of the games that are currently in development.
It’s crystal clear that this summer might change gaming forever, but in the meantime, the best thing to do, is to wait for E3 to arrive.
