The world we live in is a wonderful place, with beautiful landscapes, animals, vegetation, and the people who live in it. But over the years, it has been suffering, with war, destruction, industrialization, global warming, and many other problems. Experts say that by 2050, the temperature will increase, as well as the population; resources will decrease in quantity, icebergs will melt, and many other bad things could happen if we don’t do something to stop this now.
But first, it is required to go on a smaller level, to Colombia. This country is a good place to live in, but over the years, it has been suffering with war, which threatens the safety of the civilians and, as a result, has been creating a sense of fear among the citizens, especially in rural areas, which are the places where criminals attack more often. What makes this even sadder is that this has been a thing since the 50’s. We are going throughout more than 60 whole years of fighting and suffering in our country. There have been attempts to stop this war, with the peace treaty settled in 2016, and it worked, but for a short period of time.
Over time, more groups have been surfacing and have done their schemes. It was evident that the treaty didn’t work. There must be a way to put an end to this 60-year-old conflict. But how? One thing that made the treaty fail was that measures to ensure peace were never taken. With a new president, measures could be taken.
Now with the pandemic making everything be at a standby, groups could be active in the shadows. To stop them, the authorities should also work in the shadows, find the members, capture them and imprison them. Sounds simple, but it’s easier said than done, and only the authorities know how to do it right.
But, how will Colombia or the world achieve harmony? One word: Collaboration. These days, there have been many things happening around the world, and we already know that those things are. If the people don’t want the expert’s predictions to be true, it is absolutely necessary to work together to stop a problem as menacing as global warming.
Countries should join forces, create plans that can heal the planet effectively, and with the help of people who have created amazing tools that help the planet, global warming could be stopped, but only in the long run, this can’t be instantly stopped, wounds heal over time. If we don’t want 2050 to be a terrible year for the planet, now’s the time to solve this huge problem, but how can we help? By recycling, by not throwing away trash outside of trash cans, donating to organizations could work as well.
