The Galaxy's Guardians

Once upon a time, the guardians of the galaxy were planning to go to a different galaxy in order to investigate and inspect another planet. They couldn’t decide where to go, so they took the desition to ask a random person via Instagram.

After hours of searching for the right candidate, they saw in my bio that I liked a lot everything that had to do with space, galaxies, and planets. Leo, the leader of the guardians asked where I was from, in a matter of seconds I told him I was from Earth. Then all of a sudden they called me and asked me everything about Earth, and what would they need to survive here. In gratitude, they told me they would film everything they do and then give the tape to me.

The night they arrived, they took a plane to Cartagena because they saw there was a sailboat competition. The next day, they were all excited and enthusiastic to participate in the contest. At this time, it wasn’t normalized at all that different species come to Earth and do the same things as humans. So, this girl named Karen started to yell at the guardians and tell them they were ugly, that they were not welcome on her planet and will never be. Some of the guardians were 12-13 years old so they took these words very seriously and got scared.

Leo, as the leader, started to tell this girl what they were , what they did as “guardians of the galaxy” and why she should be grateful to them. Karen wouldn’t stop screaming at them so the people started to film them and publish them on Instagram. These videos went viral in a matter of minutes. As soon as I saw the videos, I decided to go there and support the guardians. My mom drove me there and when we arrived, the judges were discussing with the guardians because they wouldn’t let them participate in the contest since Karen told them they weren’t humans and they would have an advantage. I couldn’t take it so I confronted Karen and the judges. I told them they were discriminating against these living beings, that they deserved as much as we do.

- Are you crazy? Karen said

- I think you are! The only thing they are doing is to try to have fun! They are not doing anything to you nor anyone else ma’am. I yelled at her.

- But they have powers, it is not fair.

- That’s a stereotype. Maybe I would accept what you’re saying in 2020 or 2021. We’ve evolved, we know that not every single species different from humans have powers.

Then Leo and his guardians came to me and thanked me for what I had done.

-Thank you! Everyone was against us. Leo said

-It’s okay. I know what you deserve and it’s not discrimination.

Then, the judges understood what was the good thing to do. They let the guardian participate in the contest. They didn’t win, but they couldn’t be happier.

And that’s how I met your father, kids.

- Mom that’s not true!! haha. One of the kids said

-Leo, honey please come here and tell the kids how we met.

THE END.
