A Short Story on Disloyalty

This is a story about a young girl named Alicia, who can’t see, so she got bullied by her classmates. This girl is 16 years old and is very intelligent; however, she is also very submissive to the point of not being able to oppose others, her innocence also represents a disadvantage when it comes to defending herself, though she does not enjoy seeing others suffer. It is sad, even much more considering that she is not to blame for anything, she tells herself every day that she is to blame and that she cannot do anything, but that is just a big mistake.

Sometimes her peers hit her or trample her to make her fall. There are also occasions when they put objects on her chair or in any place where she is going to sit and since she is blind, she has no way of noticing it, they also guide her to the wrong places and they mistreat her physically and psychologically.

Also at home, she is mistreated by her parents and her brother ,to the point that; for example, they make her vomit with a blow to the stomach or twist her fingers and when they make her feel pain they make her subtract from 1000 to 0, but 5 by 5, so that she does not lose her sanity and thus suffer more, among other things, they wet her with cold water and gave her a dirty towel with paint to dry herself, but she did not know it until she came home with her face stained and her mother hit her asking her if she was making fun of her.

Her parents also did not insist on teaching her anything, like how to write, so she learned from a neighbor who was the only person who did not mistreat her, an old woman of about 80 years, but when her classmates saw that this woman supported her, they decided to do something bad to her, so that she would not help her again. Later, at night, they entered her house and destroyed everything, from the table to the windows and the woman was so scared that she died from a heart attack; as a result, this girl blamed herself saying that she deserved suffering because it was her fault that the lady had died.

The family think that her misfortunes could be caused by the fact that this girl is "cursed" only because of being a disabled person, at some point this girl got tired of suffering and jumped to the tracks of a train... ending her life.

I aboarded the subject in such a crude way with the intention of expressing that the world is not a fairy tale and all this happens, not all of us grow up in a perfect family and there are people who suffer for things that are not their fault. In true life, there are no happy endings all the time.
