LIKE HONEY
Like honey her words sound
Sweet and natural, like a new addiction has been found
What she says does not have to be profound
But from my face she takes away the frown
Word so sweet, so beautiful and full of class
But just like honey, still sticky and messy alas
You chose to stay for their sweet embrace
Surprised when they turn out bittersweet in disgrace
You’d like to remember the good times
When harm her word did not cause
It’s not a clear memory though
As you got used to the treatment being now rough
She’s graceful, catchy to the eye
But now with nowhere to go, you just want to cry
Like the thorns on a rose, she makes you want to die
It hurts, but to remember the good times you try
Like honey, just so addictive
But at the same time so restrictive
Your tastebuds are now craving more honey
But as it was once so funny
Now it makes your tongue bloody
