From the Ashes On.
(Analysis of the storyline with a focus on the past in a prospective of the future.)
Suddenly, the crashing sound woke us up. My brother and I started running to see exactly what was going on with the front side of our home.
Nobody was seen on the streets, buildings were crumbling, the only thing we could see was ashes everywhere.
This is surreal, I wondered.
What a terrible thing was happening!
No one was out. Where is everyone?
Then, I got the idea to go back home to check on the radio, but our home was also gone.
A warm gust of wind was cutting our senses, making us feel dizzy.
In the vent of a war, we should have been informed.
There was something else. But what?
Literally, everything was tearing down right on our faces.
My brother, older than I, was crying. No home meant, no mom nor dad. They were sleeping with us at the noise heard.
I thought this could mainly occur in sci-fi movies where those dystopian worlds unexpectedly collapse, but not to us, why to us?
I was an excellent observer, and I said it as a matter of the past because from now on, there was nothing to be observed.
Therefore, I started to plot a plan for us to survive: We needed to first look for any survivors and who knows, maybe a savior.
Despite all the effort in walking by, there was no sign of any surviving creature: No living being was there.
We were feeling suffocated by the ashes. What was causing all this disturbance in time and place? Yes, you might be wondering…in time because it seemed to be stopped, our motions were lethargic, our ideas seemed to be flooding our head, but nothing could be properly currently threated. Our watches were still and so were our cell phones.
In this futuristic world, I thought we might have traveled interdimensionally to another planet, but how? Later, my brother told me that he was playing with a disc our father had brought home from his office; however, this was just one possibility.
He just remembered having gone to sleep late at night and was, the same as I, awoken by that terrible noise.
What could be the reason or reasons behind this strange situation? It might not be a case of a neutronic bomb, since all buildings and infrastructures would remain standing, but all biological organisms were supposed to be rather vanished. Why were we there then?
Were we the selected ones, but illegible for what?
CREATE YOUR OWN ENDING…or pay attention to mine…
We were looking at the distance, by the horizon line, that something was emerging from the ashes’ nothingness.
When we turned to see one another, to our surprise, we could not believe our eyes… in front of us, we were recognizing our own mirroring projections, but quite older. How was that possible? Were those beings our future versions?
In the blink of an eye, we were talking to them in a very compliant manner. Why were we here? Or better said, why are we here?
They looked at us as if we were kind of ignorant beings and told us to ease our way. Rachel, my older reflection, told me that we were saved because we were just the experiment from a more advanced culture which decided that they had given enough chances for us not to kill our planet; instead, they made the decision to erase the most of the humanity from the planet and we were just the version from the new generation that was left behind to meet others and repopulate our ravaged Earth. If space-time is curve, as it is, no paradox is possible.
We were all the time running in this domed like universe by tele-transporting us interstellarly through geodesic lines created by the existing anomalies called traversable wormholes, since they are so advanced that they have been able to condensed negative energy, so much that they are enough stable to allow a fast star trek. As a consequence, we can be now together without trouble.
The Wise Leaders were in charge once more, and they sent a version of us from the future to tell you to calm down, not to be nuts and celebrate life. Moreover, we should find our soulmates and the purpose would be achieved.
Then, I asked my brother’s older version… so Carl, how is that future? To which he responded… no wars, no envies, no anti-values are present any longer. We have learned to live in complete harmony.
Ever since, I have lived under the principle that we are the new Phenixes who were taught to better behave thanks to the illegibility of our Leaders. All in all, I still wonder if there was no other choice for them to redeem us.
Now, give to me your options and reasons not to have exterminated most of the humankind.
