THE OLD MAN AND HIS LITTLE GRANDSON
At the beginning of the story, the mistreatment of an elder is seen. When adults mistreated the old man, they did not realize that their son thought that what they were doing with the old man was good.
When the child saw that his grandfather was treated badly and that they fed him on a wooden dish, the child began to make one. Parents asked the boy what he was doing and he said that a wooden dish for when he and his mother were old feeding them on it. At that moment the child's parents reflected and realized how badly they treated the grandfather.
Hope can be also seen in this story because the parents did not think that it was too late, so they tried to fix what they were doing before. The child was small and did not know what was good and what was bad, when he saw the behavior of his parents towards his grandfather, he thought it was something good and wanted to replicate it by making the wooden dish.
The value I found in this story was the recognizing an error, a reflection on the part of the parents and I really liked that it was done thanks to the child, who is younger than them and clearly more innocent than them; therefore, they realized that what they were doing was wrong and tried to solve it by protecting the grandfather.
What I personally learned from this story is that we have to treat old men well and that everybody can change if they are disposed to do it.
