A Short Story As A Flashback

 A Mad Date

One Saturday, Mariana woke up early. She had breakfast with her family, took a quick shower, and left her house to work.

On her way to the office, a handsome man asked her if she knew where the closest bank to her was and she told him where it was, so right after, he asked her if she could go with him to the bank and have a cup of coffee after, to which she said yes.

Mariana and the man had a cup of coffee and later on, they went to the movie theater and then to a disco where they danced for 4 hours. Mariana did not ask the man's name beacuse she had become crazy about him; in spite of that, she did not add him on Instagram or WhatsApp. At midnight, the man said that he had to go to the bathroom, but he did not return.

Mariana fell in love with the man and she wanted him to come back, so she waited for him for seven years, but he did not return. Mariana had lost all hope about love; despite that, she prayed to God frequently.

One day Mariana was waiting in line at the bank, when a man approached her and asked what time it was. His voice sounded familiar, he was the same man; His name was Carlos.

She invited him to drink a coffee and asked him why he had left her, he told her that he did not want to leave; however, it was his turn because his life was in danger, his father was a very powerful person and he had many enemies who wanted to harm them.

Mariana confessed that from the first day she saw him on, she fell in love with him and when he left, she waited for him for months; though, when she saw that he was not going to return, she felt very sad and decided to live her life without him.

Carlos told Mariana that he couldn't forget her either, that he couldn't wait for everything to end to go back and look for her.

Mariana asked Carlos for time to think about everything that was happening, she still loved him and Carlos loved her, but she could not forget that for seven years he did not look for her and never tried to communicate with her.

After two weeks, Carlos and Mariana saw each other again, they talked about everything they had thought after the last time they saw each other and decided to be together.

One year later, they went to live together in Paris and they got married eight months later; moreover, they had two beautiful daughters.
