Hello, everyone! Today we have a special case. A case about the bad relationship that a little girl and her mom have. We will try to fix this situation and tell them how they can have a better relationship. Let’s receive this special family!
All of them:
Hi! Thank you for having us.
Host:
You’re welcome. So, who’s going to be the first one to tell me what’s going on?
Mother:
The problem is that my dear daughter doesn’t know how to control herself and ran away from home. I only want the best for her and she doesn’t appreciate what I do.
MeiMei:
That’s completely false, I ran away because she started to show me off to everyone and to say things that never happened. She said I’m embarrassed about being her daughter, she only wants me to become a Chess Pro player to live off my success, and treated me as a slave.
Host:

Mother:

The first thing that y’all should do is communicate with a calm attitude. And also try to understand what the others are feeling. You should try to put yourself in the other person’s situation. It's called empathy. Remember that you all are a family.
Mother:
Ok, let’s calm down for a little moment. So, tell me, what would you like to do in order to fix this problem? I feel like I’m doing nothing wrong. I’m just trying to do the right things in order to raise educated and disciplined children.
Host:
Of course, ma’am. But you should do it in a different way. The way you’re doing it could be a little annoying for your children, that’s why MeiMei ran away. That wasn’t the right thing to do and I’m not justifying her actions, at the end of the day you’re her mother and she’s only eight years old.
MeiMei:
I know that wasn’t the right thing to do but I was very upset. Since I have memory I’ve always felt pressured by my mom.
Mother: Wow… I mean, I just pressure you because I want you to be successful. That's all.
MeiMei:
That’s not all, you have to change if you want to be a better mother, you can’t just treat us like this!
Winston:
I agree with MeiMei.

Well, y’all need to change things in order to have a better relationship. In conclusion, Ma’am, you need to let your kids be themselves and treat them equally.
