Essay

The story talks about a grandfather, how he has been getting old with the years and showing how his own son and daughter in law mistreated him, but thankfully at the end his little grandson sent a message to his parents indirectly saying that they should not be irrespectful with his grandpa, because they wouldn’t like to feel that way either.

The values found in this story are respect, empathy and value your family or loved ones. This situation is found at the end and throughout the story, but the moment in which they are clarified or totally seen is at the end, when the parents finally realize that the way that they were treating the grandfather was incorrect, disrespectful and was an act that only a person without heart would do. They noticed that they wouldn't like either to be mistreated by their son in that way, and knew that they would feel unloved or unliked, like grandpa did.

The message that this story leaves us is that we should value our loved ones, our family and our elders. It's not their fault to have a little accident like dropping a plate, they just happen because their bodies get weaker with the years and more sensible.

We also have to know that they won’t be here forever so we need to appreciate them and spend every day like that’s going to be the last one. The story teaches us to be empathic and respectful, not only to our own family but also to anyone and everyone.
