Emotional Intelligence
The concept of emotional intelligence emerged over 20 years ago and it still applies today because it is described as the ability to monitor and or handle one's own emotions as well as the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence involves recognizing feelings self-monitoring or awareness, how emotions impact relationships and how they can be managed. Motivation empathy and social skills can all be impacted by emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence differs from traditional conceptions of intelligence in that emotional intelligence allows us to reason with emotions and enhance our thinking and problem-solving. Whereas intelligence is one's intellectual capacity and ability to process and sort through different information. Emotional intelligence involves accurately perceiving emotions in self and/or others using emotions to assist thinking, understanding emotions and their meaning and the managing of emotions.
Emotional intelligence essentially describes the ability to effectively join emotions and reasoning using emotions to facilitate reasoning and reasoning intelligently about emotions. In other words, emotional intelligence taps into the extent to which people's cognitive compatibilities are informed by emotions and the extent to which emotions are cognitively managed. Additionally it should be pointed out that emotional intelligence is distinct from predispositions to experience certain kinds of emotions captured by the personality traits of positive and negative affectivity.
Emotional intelligence is really distinct sometimes called EI for emotional intelligence or EQ for Effective intelligence Ratio, affective intelligence is like applying emotions to believe and improve our thinking. Those with higher emotional power are able to accomplish their emotions too as they utilize their emotions to Ease their thoughts and realize the emotions of others. But because you walk through the door and into the office building does not mean you see the emotions in the room before getting work although it used to be the way. Actually emotions have always existed at work but they were to be held under control with people pretending not to think while they were on this clock.
You have probably encountered someone with low emotional intelligence during your lifetime. They are quick to anger, unable to control their emotions and are easily offended. Unlike those with high emotional intelligence, those who do not have emotional Intelligence have a difficult time understanding why they feel a certain way, why their emotions often get the best of them and have a difficult time achieving personal growth before that emotional intelligence can be improved overtime, to create a more functional, mature person.
Emotional intelligence is very critical to a student learning. Emotional intelligence allows the individual to communicate, lead and negotiate with others. A person with emotional intelligence is able to understand his or her own emotions and also the motion of others. emotional intelligence actually enables a person to gain more in an educational setting since the individual is able to integrate well both socially and academically.
Emotional intelligence proved to be an important component in leadership. It is an inner ability of a person to perceive emotions of other people’s help to manage and control these emotions. The great impact of emotional intelligence at work is hard to measure. leaders and managers with a high level of emotional intelligence are exceptionally good in handling different work situations and stress. Emotional intelligence helps people to understand others better and manage their own emotions at the same time. One of the main elements of emotional intelligence is self-awareness.
