US Professor Researching COVID-19 Found Dead
Nowadays, scientists, doctors or any professional related to the health area are doing their best job to find a vaccine or a way to ease this critical situation; however, there have been a couple of cases where it seems like these people are being kept from doing so. Bing Liu, a University of Pittsburgh professor on "the verge" of making significant findings about the novel coronavirus, was reportedly shot dead inside his home. Liu suffered wounds to his head, neck, torso and extremities, CNN says.
At first it was considered as a suicide, but a second body, belonging to 46-year-old Hao Gu, was found an hour later, discovered in a car about 1.6 kilometres from the home where Liu was found.
Police said the incident was the result of a personal dispute between the two men and that there was no evidence Liu's murder was connected to his research, WTAE reported.
“Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications. We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence, the university said in a statement.
Even after all the statements that were made, people kept the idea that his life was taken away because of his work, claiming that his death was caused by a corrupt government.
