Authorities in Wuhan, China, reported a ban on the consumption and trade of wild animals. It also prohibits the hunting and rearing in captivity of wild animals such as bats, turtles, frogs, snakes and scorpions.

The Russian media outlet Sputnik has collected the official statements of the Wuhan authorities in which it states: "a total veto is imposed on the consumption of wild animals and their by-products. The restriction applies to all terrestrial species, including those that are protected by the government, those that have an important economic or scientific value, and those that grow and reproduce under natural conditions".

As we all know, Wuhan was the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore has had a lot of recognition for these activities. These measurements started to rule on May 21st, 2020 and will continue to do so for the next five years.
