MIGUEL CALERO

Two days ago, the international day of the goalkeeper was commemorated, in homage to the legend of Pachuca, the Colombian-Mexican Miguel Calero.

Miguel started his career at Sporting of Barranquilla, a team that disappeared in 1987, then went to Deportivo Cali, and in 1996, he won his first Colombian football title. Thanks to that, he went to Atletico Nacional, in which he also won the Colombian league and the Copa Merco Norte. Later,  in 2000, he made the big leap to Mexican football, his team was Pachuca, in which he made history and is a legend, where he won 4 Mexican leagues, 4 leagues of champions of the Concacaf, the South American Cup and the American super league; meanwhile, with the Colombia's national team he won the Copa America in 2001.

Sadly, he died on December 4th, 2012 in Mexico City from a cardiorespiratory arrest.

A great goalkeeper who is no longer with us and we still remember him for everything he did as a  great footballer.

Thank you,  Miguel.
