Mangas' Recommendations
There are many ways to live literature and one of them are graphic novels. This time we are going to talk about mangas (漫画), which are comics or graphic novels created in Japan or using the Japanese language and conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. So, we have 5 mangas' recommendations:
1. A Silent Voice by Yoshitoki Oima
Gender: Drama
"A Silent Voice" follows the poignant and moving story of Shoya Ishida, a school bully, and Shoko Nishimiya, a young girl with a hearing disability. Their story begins in sixth grade when Shoko transfers to Shoya's elementary school and quickly finds herself bullied and isolated due to her hearing disability
2- Your Name by Makoto Shinkai
Gender: Fantasy, drama and romance
Your Name tells the story of Taki, a high school boy in Tokyo and Mitsuha, a high school girl in a rural town, who suddenly and inexplicably begin to swap bodies.
3- Haikyuu! by Harudichi Furudate
Gender: Comedy, sport
Hinata Shouyou, a short middle school student, gained a sudden love of volleyball after watching a national championship match on TV. Determined to become like the championship's star player, a short boy nicknamed "the small giant", Shouyou joined his school's volleyball club.
4- Yakusoku No Neverland by Kaiu Shirai
Gender: Dark fantasy, science fiction, thriller
Norman, Emma, and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as "Mama," all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn. What more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark and twisted truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing. Soon, they must make haste to plan their escape!
5- Inuyasha by Rumiko Takahashi
Gender: fantasy and adventure
The series begins with Kagome Higurashi, a 15-year-old schoolgirl from modern-day Tokyo who is transported to the Sengoku period of Japan after falling into a well in her family shrine, where she meets the half dog-demon, Inuyasha.
