SCIENTIFIC ADVANCE FOR COLOMBIAN HEALTH
The National Institute of Health (INS) and the Ministry of Health announced that Colombia has the most advanced molecular tests to identify viruses of different types, including the newly developed coronavirus 2019-nCoV in China.
After conducting molecular diagnostic trials and receiving the endorsement of the international reference laboratories (U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention), Colombia became the first country in Latin America with the capacity to conduct these tests locally without the need to send samples to foreign centres, thing whcih is launching our health system into an avantgarde era.
